Cancer-causing chemicals in baby shampoo??? You're kidding, Right?!

“When there are cancer-causing chemicals in baby shampoo and mercury in skin cream, you know the regulatory system is broken,” said Janet Nudelman of the Breast Cancer Fund and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. “Industry self-regulation just isn’t working.
=============================================

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition of more than 100 nonprofit organizations working to protect the health of consumers and workers by eliminating dangerous chemicals from cosmetics. Core members include: Clean Water Action, the Breast Cancer Fund, Commonweal, Environmental Working Group, Friends of the Earth, Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition and Women’s Voices for the Earth.

There are economical alternatives and protecting ourselves and our families SHOULD be just this easy...

Toxic content in 884 common personal care products - Wow!

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) analyzed 2,983 chemicals used in personal care products, finding 884 of the chemicals were toxic.

There are better, safer, and cost-effective options for you and your family; ask me.

If it were that easy, would you do it?

If you could save on what you already buy and give yourself and your family the gift of health and wellness, would you?

If that same decision also meant that you would be improving the environment for yourself and all those to follow would you like the idea even more?

=========================================

Come on folks, let's get a discussion going here.  It really is important and certainly worth your time to learn how something you do each day could improve the world for millions to come.

Making a difference for the planet

Do you believe that a clean home should not make the world dirtier?

Do you believe a healthy life is a quality life?

Do you wish to enhance the lives of others?

I believe what I do should make a difference for myself, my home, my community and the world.

Do you wish to make a positive impact on our world?

(Come on now, make a comment and participate in brainstorming this idea - you can do it...)

Accidental Home Poisonings....

Oh, this is just to important to not share.

Click the comment below for more information.

Accidental Poisoning

"More children under four die of accidental poisonings at home than are accidentally killed with guns at home." —National Safety Council

"EV is a BBB Accredited Business."

Of course, I wouldn't have expected otherwise but It's nice to know that I'm doing business with a business that enjoys working in "the light of day" for everyone to see.

I really like my new friends here and look forward to having a good time learning how to stay ahead in these uncertain economic times.

Click the "follow me" link above and I'll keep you updated on what I learn and you can "tag-along" on this adventure.

Good idea .... one light bulb at a time .....

A physics teacher in high school said that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, a billion of them would.  With that thought in mind, read the following.

Check this out.  I can verify this because I was in Lowe's the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments.  They were all made in China .  The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking.  (note here: earlier this week, RZ was in Lowes looking for a sprinkler head. Looked at RainBird and Looked at Orbits.  RainBird is made in Mexico ; Orbits in the USA .  Orbits purchased!!)

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - even their job . So, after reading this, I think this is a worthwhile thought.  Let's get behind the idea.

My grandson likes Hershey's candy.  I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico  now.  I do not buy it any more.

My favorite toothpaste, Colgate, is made in Mexico ... now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything.

This past weekend I was at Kroger.  I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets.  I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled "Everyday Value.  " I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats - they were the same except for the price.  The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in a company in Cleveland, Ohio.

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here.

So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets.  Yep, you guessed it... Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada .  The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA !  I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!

We should have awakened a decade ago.

Let's get with the program.  Help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the U.S.A.

Membership has its privileges :)

This is fun; it's like the big box stores but you don't have to buy a gross and the membership costs less too :)

Wow - A whole new source of big-BIG bargains :)

I'm in awe of this incredible way to save and especially in these uncertain economic times we're seeing right now.  The additional peace of mind I've found is very special, in deed.

  • Ever since I discovered how to live completely debt free I've been excited to find ways to buy things I truly need and use regularly (if not literally every day) at a "big, BIG discount".  You can imagine how I felt when I discovered there a way to save money and be kind to the planet and the environment.  I gained direct access to more than 300 products for health and wellness that are effective, safer, more natural, and a better value than grocery store brands
  • Preferred Customer discounts of 30%–40% off regular product prices, a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on every product and 24/7 access to the Product Store.  There are also friendly call center Wellness Representatives available to help out six days a week.
  • I can now save up to 15% at more than 650 popular online retailers and save up to 50% on everyday services including cell phones and wireless plans, health care savings plans, entertainment options, identity theft protection, and more.
I can't wait to learn more....

I'll be in touch early this week with more information so keep watching for it.

Thanks,
The Old Man

..... Accept the Golden Rule or move on (I like that)

After 30+ years in the insurance industry I took a retirement option due to an injury to my back.  I was no longer able to do the work I had enjoyed doing for all those years.
Retirement just wasn't the right thing for me though and with the help of a friend I found this opportunity to keep my mind active, to meet nice people from all over the world and to continue to provide a valuable service in the world marketplace.
All of this in the wellness industry and in association with a company that insists that the only acceptable business model requires agreement with and application of the golden rule first.
Wow ~ I'm astounded, once again, by the blessings that come my way.  Thank you!

I like cash-back

I just found out how to get cash-back from almost every place I might shop.  Even the Apple Store and they don't discount for anyone yet I now know how to get 1.5% cash back from even them.  3.75% back from Overstock.com and 8.25% back from Nordstrom.  All in all there are over 600 retailers I can get cash back from.  Ace Hardware, Barnes & Noble, Bass Pro Shop, Home Depot and hundreds more are on the list.  I believe I may have stumbled onto a real goldmine here.

It's nice to know that membership still has privileges. AND I don't even have to get "the card" to get them (lol)

A New Beginning

Some times it's just that unexpected nudge that makes all the difference in the world.  Who knew a friend of many years would lead me to something so simple and yet so exciting?
.
Having always (literally) been a people person this comes as no great surprise but a new journey will be taking me to the best kind of adventure.  Sharing what I learn as it comes to me will be thrilling and will benefit my friends so the very thought of it is quite intoxicating.
.
Come along on the journey with me and together we will see what lies ahead.  As I always like to say; hold on and have fun...
